A tale of two photos: 2006 & 2009

You might enjoy comparing two interior photos of the Cathedral, one taken in 2006 and the other in 2009. The obvious change is the interior paint.

It has been several months since the completion of the paint job. We have had some time to "get used" to the bright colors. What do you think of the paint? We would love to hear your comments. Please leave them in the comment box.

Not much is happening with the Renovation. The painters are working on other jobs before they begin painting the exterior of the Cathedral. Perhaps the 105 degree temperature is not ideal for painting.

I absolutely LOVE it! It's so warm and inviting, not too loud or raucous. The colors don't take away from the sacredness of the space, but they add to its warmth and comfortableness. Great job!

At first the colors were a little bit of a shock, but then everything came together. The best thing the Cathedral has done was moving Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament back to His original place of honor and by far a more beautiful and conspicuous place!

All the color was a shock for me at first, but now I have grown to love it. I love the story Msgr. Gier told about a friend who had said about it wraps us in the blood of Christ. So true!

The 2009 picture has a feeling of Augustus Pugin to it. The colours especially are nice. Are any CDs coming out about the cathedral?

It reminds me somewhat of the Cathedral of the Madeleine in Salt Lake City. Very nice job.
